Router Mortising Jig, Dimensioned Drawings Plan

Looking for an easier way to cut mortises? Try this shop-built benchtop mortising jig. When mated up with a plunge router and a solid carbide straight bit, this jig will cut 1/8″ to 1/2″ mortises in stock thickness from 1/4″ to 2-1/2″ thick and up to 3-1/2″ long. It is a perfect solution for loose tenon joinery. The jig is easily adaptable to almost any plunge router thanks to a custom platen. The 9-page set of dimensioned drawings provides all the dimensions you need to make a custom jig. It also provides a complete bill of materials and full-sized patterns for the mortise length and stock thickness labels. These patterns can be supplied to a local engraver to create your own set of scales.
