Description
The diminutive (and dare we say adorable) Bench Dog #1 is a smoothing plane in the size of a block plane. It is typically held with one hand, with the tote tucked into the web of your thumb and your fingers lightly cupping the cheeks of the plane. However, it may also be used with two hands for negotiating tricky grain. Thanks to its high angle, which helps to tame tear-out, it is the ideal solution for cleaning up problem areas in large panels with reversing grain.
