Description
Zebrawood shorts are approximately 13/16″-thick x 3-1/2″ to 7-1/2″ wide x 24″ long. They are available in one, two, and three board foot quantities, and come in multiple pieces.
The color ranges from light brown to a cream tan with dark blackish brown streaks, which resembles a zebra’s stripes. Depending on whether the wood is flatsawn or quartersawn, the stripes can be either chaotic and wavy (flatsawn), or somewhat uniform (quartersawn). The wood machines well, but tear out can occur when planing or surfacing due to the prevalence of interlocking grain. Zebrawood glues and finishes well.
