Quartersawn Red Oak Shorts are approximately 13/16″-thick x 5-1/2″ to 7-1/2″ wide x 24″ long. They are available in one, two, and three board foot quantities.
Quartersawn Red Oak is a specialty hardwood that is the same color as red oak but is cut at an angle that places edge grain on the face. The way it’s cut also reveals thin and wide flecks along the face. The flecks shine brightly when the finish and/or stain are applied. Quartersawn red oak is relatively easy to cut, sand, and finish.
