Description
Mahogany shorts are approximately 13/16″-thick x 5-1/2″ to 7-1/2″ wide x 24″ long. They are available in one, two, and three board foot quantities.
Heartwood ranges from pale pink to a deeper reddish brown, sometimes with medium to dark reddish brown streaks. Colors darken with age. Quartersawn surfaces exhibit a ribbon-stripe appearance. It is generally easy to work, though tear out can be a problem. It glues, turns, and finishes well.
