Description
Curly Bubinga shorts are approximately 13/16″-thick x 5-1/2″ to 7-1/2″ wide x 24″ long. They are available in one, two, and three board foot quantities.
The color ranges from a pink and red to a dark reddish brown with darker purple or black streaks. Sapwood is a pale straw color. It’s grain pattern is highly figured and tight. Gluing can be problematic due to bubinga’s high density and natural oils. It also contains silica which can prematurely dull tools and blades. Turns and finishes well.
