Description
Chechen shorts are approximately 13/16″-thick x 3-1/2″ to 7-1/2″ wide x 24″ long. They are available in one, two, and three board foot quantities, and come in multiple pieces.
Chechen’s color is varied, with red, orange, and brown contrasted with darker stripes of blackish brown, and tends to darken to a reddish brown with age. Well defined sapwood is a pale yellow. The grain is usually straight, but may be wild or interlocked. Fairly easy to saw and machine, but tear out can occur with interlocked grain.
